Kids 1st says it all.
We believe the physical and mental welfare of our kids needs to be at the forefront as we battle the effects of COVID, seen and unseen. We’re not here to politicize this crisis. We’re here solely to give a voice to children of all ages and we’re asking to let the data drive the discussion.
We believe our City, County and State leaders want to help. They have kids too. Like most of us they’ve had very limited information and a lot of unknowns.
We’re trying to change that.
What we’re certain of is our kids should be prioritized over things like golf, haircuts, massages and dining out.
We don’t have all the answers, but what we do have is 8 weeks of an impactful statistical analysis involving almost 7,000 kids and coaches and the results far surpassed our expectations and eased our initial concerns.

For parents, nothing is more important than the health and happiness of their children and we have seen a sharp decline in both since March. Inactivity is at an all-time high and video games are seeing record breaking sales and profits. Kids are losing valuable time, experiences and opportunities and they won’t get them back.

Kids 1st Action Items
Collect More Data
We started collecting primary data in San Diego County in early June. Our plans are to expand statewide through our network of soccer partners and then nationally through partners like the ECNL.
Drive Awareness
We encourage families to join and share in our Kids1st Campaign. Let’s unite and prioritize data-driven discussions to promote a cooperative path forward. We need a healthy conversation with our leaders so we can help them do what’s best for our kids.
Begin Pilot Program
If allowed, we are ready to begin a four week pilot program to further research the safety of youth game play in a controlled environment. We want to partner with our government leaders to ensure results we can all use to safely expand youth sports and outdoor activity.
