The WPL offers varied levels of competition for every Club/Team that wants to play soccer. Our General WPL Club membership provides competitive levels for high caliber Select (Classic), Select/Super Rec (Copa) and Developmental (10U-8U) age groups across the state of Washington and bordering states (where feasible).  WPL’s next level of membership includes Premier/Travel teams (Super league). The Super League has special requirements that must be met in order for Clubs/Teams to participate in this League. For Clubs that are interested in joining the WPL, please read the steps under General Membership.  For those interested in joining at the Super League, please follow the steps listed for both the General and Super League Memberships.

Please note: Fall League Applications must be submitted by May 15th. Spring League: November 1st.

SUPER LEAGUE MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

Super League Membership

Super League Membership 

All of the requirements for General Membership in the WPL must be met as well as the standards outlined below

  • Clubs must have a minimum of 10 teams registered in the WPL to apply for admittance in the Super League with at least 3 teams qualified to play at the Super League level. 
  • Clubs must have a Director of Coaching who holds a United Soccer Coaches Advanced National diploma, or a US Soccer National “C” License, or United Soccer Coaches  Director of Coaching Diploma (or a plan to achieve this level within 11 months of admittance into the Super League). 
  • Super League head coaches must have a minium of a United Soccer Coaches National Diploma, or higher. 
  • Clubs must be able to show proof of having quality fields to play matches on.  
  • Clubs must have a Developmental plan for their Club and Players. Link to a Sample Develop program coming soon.
  • Clubs must have a minimum level of personnel to handle all club related issues including 
    • Director of Coaching 
    • Club President or Club Director 
    • Registrar 
    • Field Assignor/Scheduler 
    • Administrative Lead 
    • Referee Assignor 
    • Webmaster 
    • Treasurer

STEP 1: Review the standards check list to see if your club meets WPL Requirements 

  • Clubs must have a minimum of six teams to qualify for admittance into the WPL. 
  • Clubs must be able to show proof of having fields to play matches on. 
  • Clubs must have a Developmental plan for their Club and Players.  Here is a link a sample Develop program 
  • Club must have a website that is active and kept updated with Club and Contact information
  • All coaches must have League-approved coaching credentials from either US Soccer, United Soccer Coaches  or UEFA organizations. Please see Coaching Education page for minimum coaching requirements.
  • Coaches cannot coach in the WPL without meeting the minimum standards for coaching credentials. 
  • Clubs must have a minimum level of personnel to handle all club related issues including: 
    • Director of Coaching/Club President
    • Registrar/Treasurer 
    • Administrative Lead/Referee Assignor/Field Scheduler

  • For teams that want to join at the Super League level make sure to complete the additional sections to the WPL application.  
  • To have the application reviewed, the Club must submit the Application fee or request an invoice to be sent for payment.

STEP 3: REVIEW US CLUB APPLICATION & POLICIES

STEP 3:  Review the US Club Soccer applications and policies 

Once these steps have been completed, a representative from the WPL will contact the Club Representative listed on the Club application with questions or next steps. 

If the Club is approved by US Club Soccer, US Club will inform the WPL of their approval and request the “status” of the Club’s application to be admitted to the WPL. 

If approved by both organizations, US Club will then create a Gotsport account and connect the account with the WPL.  

After the Gotsport account is set up, Club representatives must contact the WPL office at info@wpl-soccer.com to schedule training to use GotSport and learn about the WPL.
